Are you a great artist, writer or photographer? We need you! The San Carlos Education Foundation would like to feature artwork, quotes and photos by our kids in everything we do – our website, annual report, brochures, flyers and more!

There are two ways to participate:

Create a Work of Art. Submit an original work of art depicting SCEF or one or more of the programs we fund. Drawings, paintings, photos, sculptures… the sky’s the limit.

Coloring: Kids in grades K-4 who love to color can enter our coloring contest. A coloring sheet was sent home in every child’s backpack. Or, you can download and print out the coloring sheet at home. [CLC Coloring Sheet][SCSD Elementary Coloring Sheet]

Photography: We welcome original photos that depicts academic excellence or one of the many programs we fund at your school. If you submit a photo featuring students, please include the names, schools and grades of students depicted in the photo. High resolution photos can be emailed to contest@scefkids.org.

Fine or Digital Art: Create a work of art depicting academic excellence or one of the many programs we fund at your school. Completed works can be submitted to your school office or emailed to contest@scefkids.org.

Write an Essay. Tell us what you love about your favorite SCEF-funded program(s) in an essay.

K-4 students: Legible responses should be hand-written on a single page and submitted to your school office.

5-8 students: Please submit a 250-500 word essay to contest@scefkids.org. Essays can be submitted in the body of the email, as a plain text doc, PDF, Pages document or Word file.

About Honey Bear Trees

Honey Bear Trees began over 40 years ago, when a young beekeeper in Oregon began growing Christmas Trees on a lark. Hans, the beekeeper and now a tree grower, began giving away a free bottle of honey whenever he sold a tree. Christmas Trees and honey? Okay, to Hans it was a perfect combination. Since 1986, Honey Bear Trees in Redwood City has continued this tradition. We still give a free bottle of honey (while supplies last) with every Christmas Tree sold. And Hans? Well, he’s a little older now. He still grows Honey Bear trees and takes care of his busy bees. Some things never change. And, we’re glad.

Honey Bear Trees offers USA#1 premium trees from Pacific Northwest tree farms. Not only are we able to offer a large selection of trees, which include Noble, Fraiser, Grand and Douglas Firs, but we also have an exclusive tall tree program with premium tall trees from 10′ to 20′ in height! We provide local and immediate availability from our Redwood City and San Carlos lots. We are a full service tree lots which means we can assist with selection, cut, fireproofing, delivery, set up, removal, and recycling. Not only to we provide awesome trees, we also have wreaths, evergreen, garland, mistletoe, and tree stands. Pre-ordering is available and a great way to guarantee you get what you want, including your delivery date!
