How We Help (OLD)

The San Carlos Education Foundation raises money through its Annual Giving Campaign and through special events such as Spring Fling to fund key programs for all schools in the San Carlos School District. SCEF funded programs support every San Carlos child, every week, at every school.

These programs fall under the following areas:

Literacy
Learning to read — opening the door to the wonders that a child can derive from reading — is the most important academic milestone in a child’s life. SCEF supports our district’s goal to <> by funding librarians in our elementary and middle schools. We also fund enhanced Literacy instruction for students at the elementary level.

Health & Well-Being
SCEF funds programs that impact our children’s physical and emotional health. This includes Physical Education at the elementary level and Athletic Directors at the middle school level, as well as middle school Counselors and elementary school Friendship Counselors.

Arts
SCEF funds programs that explore performing arts, fine arts, technology and science. This includes our elementary music program for all grades, our middle school Band, Orchestra and Choral Directors, technology support for all K-8 teachers and science support for K-5 teachers.
