Our Endowment

The SCEF Endowment was established in February 2008 by the Palo Alto Medical Foundation to help preserve programs in the areas of health and wellness in San Carlos public schools.

As stated in the Endowment Charter, the purpose of this $1.5 million endowment is to supplement the SCEF annual campaign while growing the principal balance of the funds invested.  The Endowment Committee, working with Vanguard Asset Management Services, has developed a prudent, long-term investment strategy to meet these goals.

Even in the face of a turbulent investment landscape, approximately $300,000 has been distributed by SCEF from February 2008 through June 30, 2010.  This was accomplished while maintaining a principal balance just under the original $1,500,000 gift.  For more information about making a contribution to the SCEF endowment, please contact our endowment team at endowment@scef.us.
