The San Carlos Education Foundation (SCEF) is a nonprofit fundraising organization that helps the San Carlos School District provide a well-rounded public education for all students. We work in partnership with parents and the community to support core and innovative programs that are vital to an exceptional education.
WHAT WE FUND
Your gift to SCEF supports teachers, librarians, counselors and other educators who would otherwise be eliminated from our students’ world of learning due to reduced state funding. From transitional kindergarten through eighth grade, SCEF gives every child every chance to excel with a robust curriculum beyond what public funding would provide. HOW WE DO IT
SCEF is led by an all-volunteer board of directors comprised of San Carlos parents and community members. Each SCEF board member takes responsibility for various aspects of the organization’s operation. The board is supported by a small staff including an Executive Director, Operations Manager, Special Events Manager and bookkeeper. We are committed to keeping our overhead low. HOW YOU CAN HELP
SCEF raises funds through donations made by families and community members, local businesses, corporations, foundations, special events and auctions. From the moment children start learning, they have the potential to be successful. But it requires a special investment to help that potential flourish. Donate [link to donate page]
WHY PAY FOR PUBLIC SCHOOL
California funding for education ranks 45th in the nation providing bare bones education for our children. Annual grants from SCEF provide approximately 7% of the San Carlos School District’s annual budget and support essential programs that nurture the whole child.
