VOLUNTEERS ARE THE HEART OF SCEF

SCEF is governed by a working board who provides their expertise to the organization. In addition, many members of the community serve on committees, planning events, seeking sponsorships, planning auctions and helping to run the organization.

Every year we honor three volunteers for their support and generosity of time and talent to the benefit of the children of San Carlos.

Marianne Jett

Cathy and Eric Von der Porten Stewardship Award

Recognizing exceptional dedication to our school community through their contributions of time and talent.

This year’s recipient, Marianne Jett, is a dedicated community member, volunteer in our schools (PTA, SCEF and Site Council), Bond and Parcel tax measures, and youth sports (Little League) among others.  As our former SCEF President, she worked to professionalize SCEF, built Leadership Circle, launched the effort create a permanent endowment fund and led the board to commit to growing the fund.

Jennifer Kaufman & Sallie Gasparini

Carrie Du Bois Spirit Award

Demonstrating energy and determination that lift up our whole community.

Sallie Gasparini and Jennifer Kaufman, Co-Presidents of SCEF, led the organization during a critical time in the District.  Under their leadership, a Memorandum of Understanding was developed which is the cornerstone of SCEF’s fundraising success today.  The MOU guides the way in which SCEF and the PTAs support the schools for the benefit of all students.  During their tenure, an increased focus on participation resulted in significant growth of the foundation.

Cris Adair

Mark  Olbert Service Award

Outstanding volunteer service beyond the highest expectations.

Cris Adair is a dedicated community volunteer involved in generating support for our local schools from elementary through high school.   She ran and grew the successful Spring Fling fundraiser for SCEF for many years raising over $3million for our schools.

“My husband and I enjoy volunteering at SCEF events. We get to see old friends while helping to raise much-needed funds for our schools.” – Karen Molinari, Parent & SCEF volunteer
